Registered Nurses (RNs) provide professional nursing care to assigned patients including recording patient histories, administering medications, and developing patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide bedside care
  • Administer medications and document therapeutic effects
  • Maintain accurate and complete health care records and reports
  • Record vital signs and medical information
  • Monitor, report, and record symptoms or changes in patient conditions
  • Prepare and administer injections
  • Assess, implement, plan, and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team members
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient condition and response to treatment

Other Responsibilities

  • Completes required orientation as directed by facility
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Follows facility Unusual Occurrence Protocol
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of patients
  • Upholds HIPAA regulations
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

Position Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Licensed as a RN
  • Minimum of one (1) year RN experience
  • Federal, State, and Zeal Clinical Staffing and facility required credentials current and on file
  • Cognitive skills as related to the position 

Working Conditions

Because clients need round-the-clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The number of patients assigned per shift will vary with facility and specialty, if applicable. LPNs spend considerable time walking, bending, stretching, and standing; they assist in patient transfers, so they must follow proper body mechanics to guard against injury. LPNs may face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases. The use of disinfecting and sterilizing agents may cause damage to skin and respiratory system.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Fine motor skills
  • Visual acuity
